Our technicians provide intravenous support by inserting peripheral IV catheters (PIVCs) using sterile aseptic technique to decrease the risk of infection. PIVCs are commonly used for acute (short term) intravenous medications, fluids, and blood products. Ideal for long-term care facilities and home bound patients.

The Rabies Titer test is used to evaluate a person’s immunity to Rabies. This test screens for antibodies capable of neutralizing the Rabies virus. This test is typically ordered by people who work with animals and have an occupational risk of exposure to Rabies. This test may also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of post exposure treatment for Rabies. The Rabies Titer test is run at the Kansas State University Rabies Laboratory, one of only two commercial laboratories recognized by the Center for Disease Control for performing the test. As a result, turnaround time for this test can be up to 4 weeks.
